MORRIS ROAD BRIDGE CLOSING Posted October 27, 2011 Morris Road closing for bridge repair Morris Road will be closed and detoured between Lafayette Avenue and Butler Pike in Whitemarsh and Upper Dublin townships, beginning THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 3, due to structural damage on the bridge over the Wissahickon Creek.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said crews will work the next seven weeks to repair a 50-foot section of the damaged bridge wall. The bridge is expected to reopen by Dec. 23.
During construction Morris Road through traffic will be detoured over Lafayette Avenue, Route 73 (Skippack Pike) and Butler Pike. Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area.
