Practice is schedule for the normal time - 7:30-9pm - on Good Friday, 3/28/13.  A few of us are planning on going out to Fireside after if anyone wants to join us!

Did you know that USMS offers online workouts? If you miss one of our coached practices and will be swimming solo you may be interested in trying some out. You can find them by going to www.usms.org then clicking on "My USMS" in the upper right hand corner. Log on (you will need to create a userid and password the first time you log on) and there are several options listed under "Available USMS Member Online Services"  including "Weekly workouts offered by online coaches".  If you click on that and go to the "Stroke and IM Workouts" you may find some of these look familiar!

Geoff Meyer Jr stopped by the pool and asked if I could spread the word about Team Fran.  If you are running the Broad Street Run please consider joining Team Fran to raise money for the Fran Crippen Elevation Foundation.  If you are not running, consider pledging money to one of the runners.  There is a list of those who are running as part of Team Fran, including Geoff Jr, several of our age group coaches (Chris Lear, Claire Crippen and Kerri McIlvain) and one of our former masters coaches (Valerie Kukla Webb). This was the Fran Crippen Elevation Foundation's biggest fundraiser last year and they are hoping to raise $20,000 this year!

We need to cancel practice this Monday 3/18. A make up workout will be held on Tuesday at 7:30pm.  

There will be no GAAC age group practice tonight, Friday 3/8/13, so we can hold our masters practice 30 mins earlier - at 7pm.

The Mr./Ms. Consistency calculations are completed for all but one swimmer (who didn't enter his hour swim total online before registration closed but did complete all 3 stages and the hour swim).  Unofficially, Barbara Burke is the winner with her actual hour swim yardage being 25 yards more than the yardage predicted based on the 15, 30 and 45 min swims. Once the missing 1 hour yardage total is received we will crown the winner.

If you wanted to swim the 1650 or 1000 at Zones but got shut out (which is all of us except Tina!) our friends at Terrapin Masters are holding a distance meet the night of the distance events at Zones at the beautiful pool at the University of Maryland on 4/19. Registration opens tomorrow, 3/9/13.
