Congrats to all GAAC Masters who competed at USA Triathlon Nationals last weekend up in Burlington VT. We had a great showing with several people qualifying for 2013 ITU World Championships to be held in London. Here are the placings of our current and some former GAAC Masters (hope I didn't forget anyone!):
Valerie Bergman - 62nd in 35-39 in Olympic Distance
Greg Sullivan - 13th in 40-44 in Olympic Distance
Greg Kaplan - 7th in 40-44 in Sprint
Laurie Hug - 5th in 45-49 in Olympic
Michele Pollio - 12th in 45-49 in Sprint
Ken Barbee - 9th in 45-49 in Olympic
Bob Pugh - 10th in 50-54 in Olympic AND 20th in 50-54 in Sprint
Gerry Auman - 29th in 60-64 in Olympic AND 16th in 60-64 in Sprint
Chuck Weitz - 23rd in 65-69 in Olympic

Late....but here are the rankings from the 2nd Smack Down. Full results will be emailed shorty. Ken Barbee came back with a vengeance (and a new strategy of doing the run heavy option) to beat Geoff Meyer in the 2nd round. Jen Sung earned victory #2 on the women's side.
The GA pool is scheduled for maintenance next week - 8/13-17.
It looks like we will be able to hold workouts on Mon and Wed evenings that week at Mermaid's pool in Blue Bell. The club closes at 7:30pm so the latest we would want to start is 6pm. We can aim for 5:45 and those who can't get there that early will just have a shorter warm up. WHen you arrive at the gate just tell them that you are there with Germantown Academy Aquatic Club Masters. Cost will be a $7 drop in fee rather than tickets.
It may also be possible to swim mornings at Manor Lu and Cricket Club but I am waiting to
